Long Distance Option
Note: The structure of the long distance Magic and Meaning of Herbs is likely to change for the next upcoming course from what is described below.
Many people have participated in The Magic and Meaning of Herbs training even though they live too far away for frequent trips to Virginia to be practical. Like Australia, for instance.
Through the wonders of online communication, group conference calling, and with a specially designed curriculum, you can take the Magic and Meaning of Herbs journey no matter where you live.
The long distance Magic and Meaning of Herbs experience is possible through the use of yahoo groups and private social networking sites.
I will first meet with each member of the group at least once in an individual phone session.
Class Conference Calls will be twice a month. The posted schedule is suggestive only and may change depending on the availability and time zones of the MMHLD students. If you are not able to make a class it can be recorded for you (this is not guaranteed as technology sometimes does not work the way we want it to). Conference Class Calls may be up to 3 hours long. You are responsible for your long distant phone charges.

You will receive by email the first month’s curriculum with the month’s journeys, herb, plant, nature, and archetype work, etc. This work will take approximately two full days to complete along with any optional fieldwork you do. Each month’s curriculum will have a “To Be Completed” list and a due date to post your completed projects online to The Magic and Meaning of Herbs private social networking site.
Everyone must commit to posting your appreciations of each members posted work each month.
Each month you will receive that month’s curriculum.
You will post your experiences, encounters, research, feedback, insights, realizations, and pictures online. Any time you have questions I will be able to answer in a timely fashion by email. You will be experiencing similar mediative journeys as the on-site Magic and Meaning of Herbs groups. And you will also be moving through the same Sacred Craft work and Rites of Passages.
Some months we will all meet together on a group conference call to experience a meditative journey, debrief an experience, or share in a Wisdom Circle. Other months you will explore the curriculum on your own and post your completed work on-line. For some projects you will partner with another classmate for on-line or phone work.
Everything else about the Long Distance MMH training is the same as the on-site MMH training.
- The training is 8 months. We start in April and end in November.
- The monthly Curriculum will cover approximately two days of hands-on work each month for 8 months.
- Suggested Fieldwork is recommended but optional.
- You will journey through all same the Sacred Crafts and Rites of Passage as the on-site MMH training.
- All group phone sessions will take into account the needs of everyone’s scheduling. Some phone sessions may be recorded (e.g Meditative Journeys) and available for download.
- Admisson, Registration, and Tuition is the same and you have the same tuition options
